The Head, Risk, Compliance & Internal Control’s purpose is to ensure the adequacy and application of internal control systems operating within the organization and to play a major role in developing, implementing and monitoring to all areas of the company’s business on compliance requirements, internal control and risk management issues. The key function of the role is to support all business units in meeting their risk, compliance and internal control obligations. This will include providing guidance and research and establishing best practice processes, templates and supporting documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct risk identification workshops, oversee and review risk registers with the business, provide risk reporting to the executive &Board level risk committees and act as secretariat to the executive Risk Management Committee.
Examine the effectiveness of all levels of management in their responsibility for the use of resources to secure value for money, their compliance with established policies and procedures and advise the Board Audit Committee accordingly.
Develop Internal Control policies and procedures as well as assist the business in designing, assessing and testing the strength of their internal controls.
Consult and liaise with the Board Committee, Chief Executive, Heads of Department when formulating policies
Minimum of 8 years post qualification relevant experience with Four (4) years at Senior Management position
A Cross Industry experience is an added advantage with a very good analytical and investigation skills as well as a good understanding of risk management strategies and internal control principles
