This role is expected to lead, plan, coordinate,supervise IT resources to deliver and maintain business-fit technology solutions. Related activities include but are not limited to the conceptualisation, design, development, implementation, support and maintaining business continuity of all business and customer applications.
Purpose of Job
i. Drives the implementation of ITstrategy as it relates to business solutions across the business
ii. Defines requirements for new orimproved technology implementations and communicates them to key businessstakeholders.
iii. Manages the delivery ofseamless IT services to users across the company in line with businessrequirements and service level agreements through optimal use of resources
iv. Ensures quality and cost-effectivedevelopment and maintenance of applications in line with changing businessneeds and in accordance with FBNI IT processes, standards and controls (i.e.architecture, SDLC, ITIL and security standards)
v. Prepares annual IT budget forarea of supervision and monitors expenditure to ensure adequate return on ITinvestments.
vi. Stays abreast of newtechnologies that will enable business productivity, collaboration and customerengagement.
vii. Provides overall leadership forBusiness and Customer Applications teams focused on migrating / transformingthe Business to a Digitally-enabled future.
viii. Increases productivity byproviding more “self-service” tools and eliminating manual processes, workingin collaboration with all business units to identify areas for automation
ix. Develops new ways to leveragedata to help build customer intelligence to better enable critical businessprocesses, leading to development of new ideas and markets.
x. Gathers and provides access torelevant industry (Financial Services, Insurance, Insure/FinTech and other)information that will facilitate an innovation culture and the sharing ofideas.
xi. Creates a learning culture thateliminates barriers and drives root cause resolution
i. First Degree and a Post Graduate Qualification in Computer/Systems/ Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Applied physics/ Computer Science or a related field
ii. Minimum of 10 years of working with and maintaining businessapplicationswith at least 5 years at Management Level
i. Previous senior management roles in product and application development in support of high growth companies
ii. Experience with developingand implementing Digital Business Applications
iii. Experience in ITIL Service Management and Software DevelopmentLifecycle
iv. Knowledge and experience in Insurance or broader financial services industry will also be required.
v. Ability to dive into details, a “hands-on technologist” with strong core technical fundamentals supported by an understanding of what drives businesses
vi. Excellent communication skills, strong team player, and the ability to work cross-functionally
vii. Verifiabletrack record of having created results oriented and energized teams
viii. Application of ITILgovernance principles
ix. Understand the application delivery and managementlife cycle
x. Proven project and resourcemanagement experience
xi. Experience in managingservices provided by 3rd party vendors
xii. Knowledge of technology (existing and emerging) andits application in the insurance and financial services industry
